Back before my hobby (Flash games and cartoons) became a career, I used to make stuff for fun. In the past 6 months I’ve been pushing myself really hard to get back to building things I enjoy making and sharing. I have a few games in various stages of completion, but those are subjects for forthcoming articles.

In the mean time I came up with an idea for a cartoon and decided to run with it. I thought it would be a good idea to forget about programming and deadlines and cross-platform compatibility for a few days. Reboot. Recharge. Rediscover roots. Alliterate.

The upcoming short, tentatively entitled “Facebook Parents”, will be out in a few days. Here’s a teaser image, complete with a keg-stand nod to its Uncle Cellmate (see below).

Making short funny cartoons was a passion of mine from what seems like an entirely different lifetime at this point. The last cartoon I made for fun was entitled “The Cellmate” and was released January 9th, 2006 on Newgrounds.

That’s 6 years, 3 months and 11 days ago today.

There’s no significance to that anniversary other than it sounding like a long time. As a matter of fact it IS a long time. Far too long. Anyway, in the interest of looking back and forward, why don’t you check out The Cellmate while you wait for the next one?

I’ll be back in a few days when the new one is ready…
